Sharapova Breezes into Quarterfinals After Routing Golovin

Maria Sharapova (RUS) 6 6
Tatiana Golovin (FRA) 0 3

Top-seeded Maria Sharapova needed only 1 hour and 22 minutes to eliminate 13th seeded Tatiana Golovin of France, 6-0, 6-3, in a third-round match at the Acura Classic.

On a warm, sunny afternoon on Stadium Court at the La Costa Resort and Spa, Sharapova, who is the defending Acura Classic champion, wasted little time as she used three service breaks in winning the first set in 37 minutes.
